Life Time Fitness

Dear Life Time Fitness,

I just wanted to take a moment to say how much I love you! I joined about 6 months ago, and I could not be happier about that choice. The club is clean, the employees are nice, and the service is amazing. I can't say enough good things.

I would also like to specifically mention Jason, my membership coordinator, and Geoff, my personal trainer. They are both wonderful! Jason is always there to answer any questions I need, and I can tell he genuinely cares about how I'm doing. Geoff is SO nice, super friendly, and an awesome trainer. He kicks my butt, but he does it with a smile, and I know he's committed to helping me reach my goals.

You're awesome, Life Time! I tell everyone about you. Thanks for being a vital part of my well-being.

Warm Regards,
Shelly Cole

Yogurtology

Hi, Yogurtology!

I've written you before to tell you how much I love you. Yogurtology is a life changing product. I'll never be satisfied by another frozen yogurt.

A while back, I asked about a more chocolatey chocolate. I was assured there was an attempt to get a richer version than chocolate frosty, but I haven't seen one at the Biltmore store. I may have missed it, but I doubt it. Any word on this? I really think it offers more flavor combinations than the slightly malted frosty flavor.

I also have some suggestions. My dad was telling about a cupcake he saw on cupcake wars that was part carrot cake and part oatmeal cookie. Of course, whenever I think oatmeal cookie, I think Yogurtology, so I thought, why don't they have a carrot cake flavor? I think it would be DIVINE! Also, you could make a cream cheese frosting flavor, which would pair well with the red velvet cake and the oatmeal cookie in addition to the carrot cake.

Think about it. That's all I'm asking. I love you!

Warm Regards,
Michelle Cole

US Airways Center

Dear US Airways Center,

About a month ago, I attended a Suns game. I hadn't been in a while, and I was reminded of a time when the Suns were a dream team. I was in about 4th or 5th grade when Majerle, KJ, and Barkley were on the team. It was such an exciting time! I remember cheering for them. I thought of these things as I purchased my nachos and red rope from the concession stand. Apparently you are nostalgic for those times, too, because I think the red rope I bought was probably purchased around the same time Barkley started saying, "I am not a role model."

I tried to gnaw through that thing, but it was so hard and tough that I couldn't even finish it between half time and the end of the game. I mean, I only spent a few bucks on it, and I realize the Suns aren't making as much money as they once were, but I think you could spring for some fresher licorice. Just a thought. I did enjoy the game, though. Thanks for listening!

Warm Regards,
Michelle Cole

Fry's Electronics

I'm posting this letter on behalf of my mother. Now you see where I get my skills. I learned from the master! This letter is incredible. You rock, mom!

Dear Fry’s Electronics:

Times must be good for your company. I am assuming times are good based on my recent sales and services experiences at my local Fry’s. In my experience, when times are good, companies and their employees seem less concerned about the consumer’s store experience. And that seemed to be the case on Monday, January 17th.

Before I relate my experience I would like to provide some background information. My husband and I purchased two refurbished HP Pavilion Laptops from our local Fry’s in 2006. They have been fabulous laptop. However, I now need a smaller, more portable laptop. Based on my previous experience I wanted to look at Fry’s. Imagine my delight, when on Saturday, January 15th, I dropped by and found a Toshiba Satellite T135, refurbished, on clearance for $400. I was very excited. I had wanted that type of laptop, but most were nearly $600-700, out-of-range for my start-up business. I happily purchased the last one and added a three year warranty with the replacement coverage.

I took the laptop home and was ecstatic with the performance and light weight. I added software and felt I had made a wonderful purchase. Unfortunately, I realized the battery was not charging. So, Monday morning I took the laptop back to Fry’s, thinking I had my bases covered and regardless of what they found, I would have a computer.

I went to the service department and was amazed that you had nine service people. Even more amazing was that half of them appeared to be on their phones, and two or three were helping one customer. The line got significantly longer behind me and department managers and employees carefully avoided making eye contact with any of us in the line. Finally, someone decided a second service attendant might be necessary. I believe at that point there were at least ten people in the line behind me.

My computer was checked and the service technician wrote down that either the battery was bad or the mother board was bad. He gave me a slip and told me I would need to go returns since my computer was broken. I went to returns and did not have to wait long, fortunately. However, I was told I could not use my warranty because I was in the “15 day return window.” They gave me my green credit slip and said I could use that towards my new purchase. I was beginning to feel somewhat disgruntled at this point. I thought I would have a replacement. I knew from my previous trip that there were no $400 laptops like I wanted. But, I went back hoping someone would help me replace my laptop.

I went back to the computer section and asked the manager if there were any Toshiba’s like mine at another store. He reported there was only one in San Diego, but he would get a sales person to help me. We looked at the displays, and sure enough, there were only two laptops, each $599. The sales person was kind enough to check in the back to see if there were any open boxes or last items. While I was waiting for his return, another sales person came up and asked me if I needed help. He said I looked, “sad or upset.” I told him I was very frustrated and why. He told me “I needed to let go of my negative energy and find positive energy. My frustration would not change the outcome. I should look for something positive to take away from the situation, like ‘I would go home with a laptop because he was sure they would price match and take care of me.” I must admit, I was a little put off by his comments, but tried to put on a face of “positive energy.”

The sales person came back and told me there were no open boxes or last items. At this point, I felt desperate. I started to wonder if there was a way to keep my original laptop. So, I went back to the service department to see if we could get a battery for the computer and determine if that was the problem. Andy, said sure, and told me to go back to computers and ask them to get me a battery. I went back to computers and asked the manager, Martha, if they had any batteries. Martha, looked very busy, but took the time to look up and me and say “no, we don’t have any batteries.” I was surprised, and asked again, and she said “no, we only have the long Toshiba batteries.” I was impressed with her ability to keep the battery inventory in her head, she had not even needed to look it up. She did suggest I go to components to see if they had a universal battery. She was a little brusque, and I had the impression I was interfering with other more important matters.

I dutifully went to components where I met Ben. Ben looked for a universal battery, but there were none. After I explained my dilemma and frustration, he was kind enough to take me back to see Jim in computers whom he thought could help me. Jim went to the back and came back with a battery, but it was the wrong one. He told me I needed the actual battery from the computer so he would know what it looked like. In fact, he said the probably should have brought the battery from service the first time.

Once again, I went back to the service department. Andy got the battery and went with me back to computers. Jim went to the back and found a new battery. I guess Martha missed it in her mental inventory. Andy and I went back to service and he tried the battery. Unfortunately, the computer could not see the battery. And so, after over two hours of back and forth, I took my green slip to the cashier and left with my $580.00 and what little “positive energy” I had left. I was disappointed, frustrated, and disillusioned by my buying experience at Fry’s.

My son suggested I call a manager when I was calmer to discuss the situation. He wondered if my experience would have been different if I had waited two weeks to take in my laptop. Then, I would have qualified for my warranty. So, today I called my local Fry’s. Unfortunately, when I asked to speak with a computer manager, they said they were going to transfer me to Martha. I hung up, I couldn’t imagine I was going to get any satisfaction from Martha, who was not helpful on Saturday.

I then decided to try the other Fry’s in town. The sales person was helpful. I explained I had a “bad experience” at the other Fry’s and was hoping he could help me. I told him I had been looking at Amazon and gave him the prices for similar computers. He found one Toshiba Satellite, which was a newer model, and it was an open box. The manager was willing to come down to the Amazon price or the open box price, but not both. Either way, I would still have sales tax at Fry’s and the warranty was $20 more than the one at Amazon. (the computer I was looking at was not on display, it was the last one, and in an open box in the back…so when was it going to be sold at all?)

Although I received help and some discounts, I decided I did not want to spend the additional $180.00 to have the computer and three year warranty. I did not think it made sense as I could get the same thing at Amazon for only $130.00 more. Once again, I left Fry’s with my $580.00.

In conclusion, if Fry’s had honored my warranty, even though I was in the 15 day window, Fry’s would still have my $580 and I would have a laptop. So, I conclude Fry’s must be making a lot of money since my $580 was not significant enough for anyone to really make an effort to save the sale and have a satisfied returning customer.

I would like to thank Ben in components, Jim in computers, and Andy in service. They each used what power they had to try and help me out. I wish your managers had been more motivated and caring. Perhaps, I have come to the wrong conclusion. Maybe the managers are the ones making money not the Fry’s store.

I hope you can use the information to improve your customer service. I look forward to your response.

Chipotle Follow-up

Dear Chipotle,

On September 21, 2010, I wrote you inquiring about a Chipotle rewards program or punch card. I was told that this is in the works, but as of the last time I ate at Chipotle (last week sometime), I didn't see any news about this. Is there any progress with that?

I also sent a follow-up email about an idea for a point system where customers can select from a menu of benefits such as free chips or guacamole. I never got a response on that.

I wanted to commend you on a small detail. I've always been annoyed that the lemon slice tub by the drinks didn't have tongs. There was always a plastic fork in there, but it wasn't effective and people would always just end up putting their hands in there. I thought about writing to suggest tongs, but before I even got the chance, they magically appeared. I now feel much better about the sanitation of my lemon slices.

Chipotle, you still have the best barbacoa tacos ever. I love you! Ole'!

Warm Regards,
Michelle Cole

Chipotle's Delightful Reply:

Dear Michelle,

Thanks for writing to us. Our loyalty program is still in the works but not quite ready to be rolled out yet. We are working hard to make sure it is very unique to Chipotle and unlike anything you've seen at any other restaurant or business. It's taking us a bit longer than we originally thought, but I promise we'll roll it out, hopefully sooner rather than later.

I apologize that you never received a response on your second email regarding a point system. We do respond to every comment we receive so I'll look into seeing where that one might have ended up. I just searched our system and didn't find anything from you. Did you, by chance, send it under a different email address?

We are happy that the appearance of tongs for our lemons made you happy and that you love our barbacoa tacos. Thanks for the positive feedback.

We hope to see you again soon!

Wipeout Follow-up

Hello,

On Tues, Sept 21, 2010, I wrote with a suggestion to create a Best of Big Balls Wipeout DVD. Is there any progress on this? I really would like a good hour of nothing but the big balls for my entertainment.

I also really think you should get Rosie O'Donnell on the show.

I'm so excited for Winter Wipeout, but the obstacle course at the end seemed far too easy on the first episode. Will improvements be made to make it more difficult?

I love you.

Warm Regards,
Michelle Cole

M&M

Dear M&Ms,

I would like to start out by saying that I love M&Ms. I have been a huge fan of the green M&M since long before her popularity in mainstream candydom. I actually wrote a persuasive speech in high school about the voting of the blue M&M. (I'm still slightly bitter that the new color replaced the tan M&M and no one was informed that it was a trade and not an addition, but at this point I should probably get over that. I mean, that was like ten years ago. I digress...)

I recently visited M&M World in Las Vegas, NV. This was a delightful experience, although I did feel the custom color mix M&Ms were grossly overpriced. I suppose that's what happens in Vegas, though. I'm wondering if you have M&M cuff links. I saw tie tacks there, but not cuff links.

Anyway, the primary reason for this email is to inform you that I recently had an unsatisfactory M&M experience. I purchased a 17 oz bag of Peanut M&Ms from a Fry's Grocery store in Phoenix, AZ where I reside. I opened the bag a few days later for a party only to find that about 1/3 of the M&Ms in the bag were completely broken. This left the others dusty and dull from all the debris in the bag.

Now, I realize this may be a handling concern on the part of the grocer, but I thought I would inform you as well on the off chance that it happened to be a quality control issue on your part. I was disappointed, but I will have you know that even broken peanut M&Ms have an addiction power roughly equivalent to that of heroin, and by the end of the night there was nary an M&M fragment in sight.

I've always loved you, M&M, but your bag of shattered candy coating cracked the candy coating of my own heart. I expected a bag of glossy, delicious M&Ms and instead got a bag of broken candy dreams.

Warm regards,
Michelle Cole

Update:

M&M Mars sent me an email asking me to call them with more detailed information (UPC, my address, etc.). I called them today, and the girl on the phone was wonderful. They are sending me replacement coupons that can be used for any M&M Mars product. Hooray!

Fry's Food

Dear Fry's,

I would like to start off by saying that your fried and rotisserie chicken are delicious!

Unfortunately, I had a recent experience that was not so pleasing. On Saturday, January 8th (3 days ago), I did my regular weekend shopping. I purchased a bag of Tillamook Sliced Sharp Cheddar Cheese. I opened it today - a few days later - and half the bag was completely molded. I've purchased this product before and never had any issues. I wonder if it was not shelved right or should have been pulled due to the expiration date. Tillamook cheese is not cheap, and I was not happy about having to throw out the entire bag.

I also purchased a 17oz bag of Peanut M&Ms that day. I also opened it today, and about 1/3 of the M&Ms were completely broken and crushed. I did not drop or mis-handle the bag in any way. I'm not sure whether this is a handling concern with you or a quality control concern with M&M/Mars, but I was again disappointed that I spent money on a product that was not up to par.

I always shop at Fry's. I even think Safeway has better produce, but you are just so much nicer, so I make it work. Is there anything you can do to make up for my recent disappointing purchases? Also, what's the secret to the fried chicken? I figure it's worth a shot asking. :)

Warm Regards,
Michelle Cole

Update:

Fry's did write me back saying that they would forward my complaint to the store manager of the Fry's I went to. The store manager called me yesterday. I have to call her back. We'll see what happens!

Update 2: I never called back, so that's my fault, not theirs.

NYPD Pizza

Hello,

I would first like to comment by saying that I absolutely love NYPD Pizza. It is some of the most delicious pizza in town, and my experiences with your company have always been positive and delicious. I'm writing because of an experience I had last Thursday, January 6th. After almost 3 weeks of not eating pizza (this is unheard of -- I generally eat pizza more than once a week), I settled in at a friend's house for a lovely evening of Winter Wipeout (an extraordinary show, if you didn't know) and NYPD Pizza. We ordered our usual 16 inch pizza with ham and waited in hunger for the delivery to arrive. The pizza did arrive within the indicated 45 minutes we were told over the phone; however, the pie was under cooked. Not just a little under cooked. The cheese wasn't even fully melted on parts of it. Don't get me wrong - even a mediocre NYPD Pizza is better than most pizza other places, but we were admittedly disappointed. I actually put the last slice under the broiler to get the melty cheese I'm used to from NYPD. The crust was soft and light, rather than slightly crisp and golden brown. After such a long time of not eating pizza, this was a disappointment.

As I said, I love your pizza and I recommend it to lots of people. You also have the most amazing spinach artichoke dip I've ever encountered. I could eat it in bucket-sized portions. I thought you would like to know about my half-baked pizza experience because I know the pie was not up to NYPD standards. Honestly, if it were the difference between the delivery being 5 to ten minutes later and the pie being better cooked, I would have gladly waited. The quality of my pizza is of utmost importance.

I hope you share this feedback with your staff so that no one else gets an underbaked pizza, especially in a moment of intense pizza craving as was this specific occasion. I also hope my future experiences with NYPD will be more satisfying both to palate and soul. I could eat pizza every day and never get tired of it.

Long live NY style pizza! Thanks for listening.

Warm Regards,

Michelle Cole

Update:

NYPD called me to talk to me about my undercooked pizza. The guy I talked to was the manager of the store I bought the pizza from. He was really nice and we had a lovely chat. He's sending me a $25 gift certificate for anything I want at NYPD. This exceeds the value of the pizza I paid for the first time. Way to go, NYPD! :)

Dear Nissan,

Last week I was driving my 2006 Nissan Xterra from Phoenix to Salt Lake City. The roads were wet due to rainy weather. I hydroplaned and flipped the car on the highway.

Unfortunately, my Xterra was totaled. This is quite sad to me because I just purchased it this summer and it is an amazing vehicle. While the truck is completely busted up, I am not. I miraculously walked away from the wreck without a scratch. I have a sore back from the impact, and the ordeal has been emotional, but I will be forever grateful for the safety my truck offered me.

When I called my mom to tell her the Xterra was totaled, she commented that it gave its life for me. That sounds dramatic, but it really is true.

Thank you, Nissan, for building a car that protected my life when I needed it. I probably won't be able to buy another Xterra right now for financial reasons, but I would recommend it to anyone. I hope someday to be able to afford another one. I'll miss it dearly, but I'm grateful that I'm okay.

This form won't allow me to attach a picture, but I really wish you could see the car. You would understand what I mean.

Thanks again, Nissan!

Warm Regards,
Michelle Cole

Nissan's delightful response:

Taco Bell

Dear Taco Bell,

I would like to commend you for your exceptional service. About a month ago, I stopped at Burger King to get something to eat. I paid $8 for my dinner, the order was wrong, the service was terrible, and the bun was stale.

Conversely, at Taco Bell, the food is affordable, the service excellent, and it 's just a more enjoyable experience.

Thank you for being there for me when I need a quick, delicious, affordable solution. Many of my friends have also commented on your excellent customer service. High five, Taco Bell!

Warm Regards,
Michelle Cole

Wipeout

ABC's comment template only allows 500 characters, so I was limited in my choice of words. Here's what I wrote.

Dear ABC,

Wipeout is amazing. I love it. I have two suggestions.

1. Best of Big Balls DVD. I really think there is a market for this.

2. Celebrity Wipeout. Rosie O'Donnel recently commented that she would "never ever" go on Dancing with the Stars, and that she'd rather go on Wipeout.

Just think: Rosie and the Hoff bouncing off the Big Balls. Now that's good television.

I don't really appreciate the character limit on your template, but I do understand.

Warm Regards,
Michelle Cole

24 Hour Fitness

Dear 24 Hour Fitness,

When I originally joined about 3 years ago, you were basically my only option. You were the closest gym to my home and work, and although you cost more than other fitness clubs, I was willing to pay extra for the convenience of being able to work out whenever I want.

I have since moved, and while there aren't tons of other options, there are some. My biggest concern is that you're not open 24 hours a day anymore. I work out in the evening because it's a good way for me to wind down. On Saturdays, the 24 Hour Fitness locations here in Phoenix close at 9 p.m. I've often had to cut my workouts short because of this.

I have other concerns about the cleanliness of the club and locker rooms, but any fitness club might have some of those problems. Basically what I'm saying is, it's ridiculous that for how much I pay, I can't work out when I want, especially because the NAME of your establishment is 24 Hour Fitness! You're not living up to that name.

I'm sorry, but I'm forced to look at other options that are more accommodating to my needs. You might want to re-think your choice in name, as it is misleading.

Warm Regards,
Michelle Cole

Their poorly-written response:

Michelle,
Thank you for your email couple things. There are some 24 Hour Fitness locations that are open 24 Hours the other locations such as this one have to comply to city code and have to close by 9pm on the weekends. It has always been this way with certain club the hours have not been altered in the past 3 years and than some. The locations that are open 24 hours are Metro Sport (I-17 and Peoria), Mesa Dobson (Dobson and 8th street), and Gilbert (Val Vista and Elliot). The other thing I was not sure based on your email were you wanting me to go ahead and cancel out your membership because you said you are looking at other options or you are still trying to decide? If you have any further concerns feel free to email me back, Thanks!
Bethany

In defense of 24 Hour Fitness, they did promptly cancel my membership at my request, with no drama. I joined Life Time Fitness, and I love it! YAY!

Yogurtology

Dear Yogurtology,

I love frozen yogurt. I've lost about 30 lbs in the last year, and it's hard to find an acceptable and enjoyable substitute for ice cream. As you are well aware, there is currently a frozen yogurt craze going on! Yogurt Land, Mojo, Golden Spoon, to name a few. I've tried them all. I even wrote Mojo a letter suggesting that they offer both roasted and slivered almonds (most places don't carry roasted) and they didn't even have the courtesy to respond to me!

I love Yogurtology for multiple reasons. First of all, it's always pristine. I know when I go there it will be clean and inviting. Second, your flavors are amazing. I fell in love at my first taste of the oatmeal cookie flavor, and that love deepened with each bite of red velvet cake, coconut, and yellow cake batter. Then there are the toppings... oh, the toppings! The staff are always friendly, and I love the new reward program with the scan card. I just can't say enough good things about Yogurtology. I tell everyone about it. I encourage people to go there. I rave about the oatmeal cookie flavor.

I do have one suggestion. While I enjoy the fancy flavor selection, I do feel customers could benefit from a more chocolatey option. The chocolate frosty flavor is good, but it's chocolate malt. It doesn't go with a lot of the toppings. For example, if you carried a dark chocolate flavor, I could top it with chocolate and nuts or strawberries, but I won't top the chocolate frosty flavor with strawberries. It just doesn't go. And you can't forget about the undeniably delicious combination of chocolate and almond. Sometimes that's all you need in life.

Yogurtology, I love you. I know you're there for me when I need you. I know that you, too, have excellent taste, and that we value the same things. Do you think you could find it in your heart to supply a more chocolatey yogurt flavor? I'm a dedicated patron.

Thanks, Yogurtology, for being so wonderful.

Warm regards,
Michelle Cole

Their response:

Dear Michelle,

Wow, what a wonderful letter! Thank you so much for your support. Congratulations on your amazing achievement this past year!

We are currently working on getting our 'Wicked Chocolate' back (it is a darker chocolate);
in the meantime, you should stop by on a Monday as we offer a sugar-free chocolate, which does not taste sugar-free.

Thanks again for your letter; when we get letters like this it brings us much joy and really makes it all worthwhile.

Best,
The Yogurtology Team

My response:

Dear German, (the guy who replied was named German)

I find your response delightful for the following reasons:

1. Your prompt reply once again validates my feelings that Yogurtology is a quality establishment with employees who care about their customers.

2. Your proper and eloquent use of the semicolon is refreshing.

3. I am pleased to hear that my chocolate desires may be granted in the future.

Again, thank you.

Warm Regards,
Michelle Cole

Chipotle

This is an ongoing exchange. I'll keep you updated.

Dear Chipotle,

I’m a chipotle convert. I’ll be honest, I thought the burritos were overrated for a long time.

Near my work there is a Chipotle across the street from a Rubio’s. When the Chipotle first opened, I kept going to Rubio’s because the food is good and the line was never as long. But once I tasted a Chipotle barbacoa taco, I was sold. I love it and I go all the time.

I really do love the food. It’s delicious. The restaurant is always clean, the service is good and fast, and sometimes, if I play my cards right and the burrito guy is a sucker, I can flirt my way to extra meat for free. I really appreciate that.

My one complaint is that you don’t have a punch card. Chipotle is like a religion for people.
You have quite the following. I understand you have free burrito days, but these are always crowded and insane, clearly for reasons of supply and demand. I understand the food is organic and everything, which costs more, and you will probably tell me that you keep your costs low to begin with in order to keep customers coming back.

I really think if you had a punch card, people would get really excited about it. There’s something about knowing that the 10th burrito is free that motivates people. It’s like you’ll eat an extra burrito one week just to get that free one coming up. Case in point: I drive 40 minutes to Café Rio because I know the 10th meal is free – including a drink! I’m clearly spending more money in gas than I’m saving on the free meal, but the salad I get is delicious and there’s just something about knowing they will give me something for free that makes the trek out there totally worth it.

Chipotle, all I’m asking is for you to think about this. I’ll ask around and see how many people agree with me. In the meantime, I’ll still eat my barbacoa tacos, but I’ll be more excited about the free meal from Café Rio.

I love you, Chipotle. Keep up the great work.

Warm regards,
Michelle Cole

Their response:

Michelle,

Thanks for writing to us. I'm glad to hear we won you over, despite your initial skepticism. I also appreciate your suggestion to offer some type of punch card. You may be happy to hear we are actually working on something like this. We just don't want it to be the standard, buy-this-many-get-one-free promo many places have. We want it to be unique to us and something really beneficial.

For now, we sometimes give our food away for free for certain events and promotions. If you'd like to learn about these events, you might want to sign up for our e-mail mailing list.

This will keep you in the loop for grand opening events and other Chipotle-oriented things in your area. Sometimes, for our grand openings, we have give-aways or even free burrito days. I promise, it's only good stuff - no spam! If you're interested, sign up at http://www.chipotle.com/tunein.

Thanks again! We hope we'll see you soon.

Sincerely,
Shannon

Another letter from me:

Hi Shannon,

I would first of all like to thank you for your reply to my original message. I wanted to check up on the status of the punch-card situation and offer a suggestion. I recently started frequenting a frozen yogurt establishment called Yogurtology. (http://www.yogurtology.com/) They have an oatmeal cookie flavor that is absolutely divine. But anyway, they have started a rewards program with a scan card. So one evening I was buying my yogurt, and they asked me if I wanted to join the rewards program. Of course I said yes!

The checker promptly handed me an absolutely adorable scan card that goes on my key chain. Every time I go, they scan the card and I get points or something. I don't even know how it really works, I just know that I love the little card and I think it's an awesome idea.

I know you want to be unique, and I appreciate that, but I wanted to suggest something similar. Maybe there could be a point system with a website, and you could use the points for either coupons, merchandise, or other chipotle deals. Maybe there could be a free burrito day for members only or something. I don't know. I just thought I would run it past you.

Also, you recently got new menus with icon-type things for the cow and the onion, etc. I'm on the fence about this. It doesn't matter though, because the tacos are still delicious. I love you, Chipotle!

Thanks, Shannon!
Warm regards,
Michelle Cole

AT&T Park

Dear AT&T Park,

On Sunday, May 30, 2010 we attended a baseball game at AT&T Park. The Giants played the Arizona Diamondbacks, who suffered an embarrassing loss due to the fact that their bullpen and pitching staff completely suck at life. Since we live in Arizona, this was particularly sad for us.

Anyway, we thought we should write you to share some feedback we have about our experience. First of all, the ballpark is absolutely beautiful! We were quite impressed by the stunning ocean views and overall cleanliness of the facility. After a seemingly endless quest to find good food on our way to the field, we found a lovely sports bar with delicious steak fries. We approached the ticket booth hoping to find decent seats at a good price. The attendant, Doug, who is from Woodridge, VA hooked us up with awesome seats! He was very friendly, and we felt immediately at home.

Once we got to the right concourse, we walked out toward the field to see if we could find our seats. A delightful usher named Harley asked us if we wanted our picture taken in front of the field. Given that we had never been to AT&T Park before, we were excited that he was so eager to help us. He took our picture and promptly directed us to the correct section.

Overall, our experience at AT&T Park was quite delightful. We really enjoyed the hospitality of the staff, and the park was clean and beautiful. We were also impressed by the variety of food options, and wished Chase Field in Phoenix had as many options. Our only complaint is lack of signage. As new patrons to the field, it was nearly impossible to find our seats without asking people where we were going, and once we did get to our section, the only identifiable signage were the little numbers on the chairs. We suggest section numbers be painted on the floor and section numbers appropriately indicated on overhanging signs. It was also difficult to find the correct concourse, so signs indicating where stairs and ramps are would also be beneficial.

We would also like to express our feelings about Giants fans. The crowd was amazing, and Giants fans are clearly loyal to their team. The game was sold out, and we had a lovely experience visiting with patrons and staff.

Thanks, AT&T Park, for being there for us, and for making our visit to San Francisco memorable. We will definitely be back.

Warm Regards,

Michelle Cole & Shuana Kinghorn

Mojo

Dear Mojo,

First of all, thanks for being part of the frozen yogurt craze. I don’t eat ice cream anymore due to dietary concerns, and I had been frequenting Golden Spoon, but the location is not convenient for me. I quite enjoy the serve yourself situation at Mojo. It’s nice to be able to load up on as many toppings as I want in whatever quantity I choose.

I do, however, have one concern. My friend and I have a topping request. As a topping option, you carry only slivered almonds. Almonds are quite delicious, especially when paired with chocolate, but we do not believe slivered almonds are the best option as a yogurt topping. Slivered almonds are great in salads, or as mix-ins for things like cookie bars or toffee. Have you considered roasted almonds? The chunkiness of roasted almonds is quite delightful in contrast to the smooth, creamy texture of Mojo yogurt. This chunky texture is more satisfying than the weak, crumbly breakage of a slivered almond.

Because of this problem, we were forced to seek out other options. As you know, frozen yogurt is quite the fad right now. We found a lovely establishment of similar quality called Yogurtology, and they offer roasted almonds as a topping. Gratefully loading up on this delicious treat, we swore of Mojo until we get word of a roasted almond option.

Thanks for listening, Mojo. We’re just trying to help.

Warm regards,
Michelle Cole & Shauna Kinghorn

Mojo failed to respond to my letter. I have now boycotted them and replaced them with Yogurtology (post on that later).

Southwest Air

Dear Southwest Airlines,

On the afternoon of May 8, 2010, it became necessary to change my flight from my original destination of Salt Lake City, UT. I was supposed to fly there to see a boy, but he got cold feet, which is beside the point. I decided to take a trip with one of my friends instead. And that's where the trouble began.

My friend and I are faithful fans of two things: Atlanta Braves baseball and really good BBQ. For this reason we decided to look into taking a trip to Atlanta to satisfy our craving for both of these things. Since I had already purchased tickets to Salt Lake City, we needed to fly Southwest, but unfortunately you do not fly to Atlanta, nor anywhere near it. In fact, as I'm sure you're aware, you don't fly to Georgia at all.

We ended up going to San Francisco, which was quite lovely. We did still end up going to a baseball game, which, while quite enjoyable, did result in some anger due to the poor performance of the Diamondbacks closing pitcher, Chad Qualls, who is horrible. Had we been able to go to Atlanta, we could have seen our favorite team. Hopefully this would have gone well, but even if it didn't, we could at least have consoled ourselves by consuming some delicious southern BBQ or perhaps a few Georgia peaches.

My point is, I think it would be greatly beneficial if you could add Atlanta as an available destination. I enjoy flying Southwest, and would prefer the option for rewards points on all of my trips; however, due to this specific issue, I will be forced to frequent some other airline if I want to see Chipper Jones play in ATL before he retires.

Thank you so much for your consideration in this matter. If you could at least recommend some good BBQ in destinations available via Southwest Airlines, that would be greatly appreciated as a consolation.

Warm Regards,

Michelle Cole

Their response:

Dear Michelle,

We appreciate your interest in having Southwest Airlines bring our low fares and friendly faces to Atlanta, GA. Whether or not it will join our ranks remains to be seen, but, if it can generate the volume of local Customer traffic that is essential for sustaining our presence, we will consider it as we are always reevaluating ways to maximize our flight schedule. In the meantime, we will let our Schedule Planning Leadership know of your wishes.

Sincerely,

Lyric, Southwest Airlines

What Not to Wear

Some of these posts are from before I was saving my letters, so I will describe the situation and post the response. I wrote What Not to Wear about Ted Gibson, the new hair guy, because he is so wonderful. The old guy, Nick, did a terrible job! He made everyone look ridiculous. WNTW was kind enough to send this reply, which was greatly appreciated:

Dear Viewer:

We appreciate your interest in What Not To Wear.

We appreciate your enthusiasm regarding new hair stylist Ted Gibson.

Please know that your comments are very important to us. Each comment is
